Dr. Nancy Muecke pronounced (“Mickey”) has more than 24 years’ experience providing career counseling for undecided college students and re-careering adults. She is a trained counselor at the graduate level and holds an additional master’s degree in sociology with a primary focus on the sociology of work. She also holds a Ph.D. from Iowa State University.
Dr. Muecke works with those unhappy or dissatisfied with their current employment, with those choosing a career path for the first time, with clients down-sized out of long-tenured positions, with those returning to the world of paid employment after a voluntary absence, and with those looking for an encore career after a fulfilling first career has ended. She’s also mentored young professionals navigating the world of work seeking to explore and develop a career plan for advancement. The primary outcome of time spent working with Nancy is an operational plan for employment in a field and environment best suited to a client’s natural talents, values, passion and interests.

While Dr. Muecke’s office is located in the Des Moines metro area, she works with clients from all over the country and even internationally. One-on-one sessions are primarily virtual at this time. Dr. Muecke prefers to meet with clients face-to-face when safety permits.
